TAKE HOME ACTIVITY FOR TEACHERS
SESSION 1
During this session we'll talk about sexual identity, sexual and emotional attraction, sexual orientation.
We will also discuss gender identity, gender expression, sex assigned at birth, and pronouns.
SESSION 2
During this session we will review acne, body odor and hygiene. We'll also focus on the anatomy of the genitals and reproductive organs, and how these organs change during puberty to allow for reproduction.
SESSION 3
The focus of this session is reviewing and building an understanding of the menstrual cycle, menstrual symptoms and supplies as well as reproduction via the fallopian tubes and uterus. From there, we'll discuss how Assisted Reproductive Technology, adoption, surrogacy and egg and sperm donation help people to have a child (if they choose to). From there, we'll also talk about the basics of prenatal development and birth.
SESSION 4
This session will focus on consent, bodily autonomy, and setting personal boundaries. We'll look at scenarios related to consent that focus on social interactions amongst 6th graders, and use the WISER Model of Consent as we discuss consent, bodily autonomy, agency, and boundary setting.
